Mary Adegbesan:
Founder and Executive Director
Mary Adegbesan, a Nigerian-American student, has been extremely passionate about the technological aspect of STEM from a young age. She currently works to bridge the digital divide and provide more computer science-based resources to underserved youth. She founded CTRL Code as a means to inspire and empower young minds globally, by providing opportunities to learn the fundamentals of computer science and programming! Ultimately, Mary's overarching goal with CTRL Code is not only to instruct youth in programming fundamentals but to help curious students across Nigeria, who have a world of learning ahead of them but lack the resources to start their journey, become aware of their boundless potential.
Yuna Hwang
Yuna Hwang is a current junior in high school. She is passionate about creating a positive impact for those who need the resources and is excited to be a part of CTRL Code!
Aishah Salman
Aishah Salman is a Nigerian American Muslim with a passion for advocacy and learning. She is committed to giving people around the world the opportunity to learn, and joining CTRL Code was a step towards achieving that goal.
Chloe Huang
Chloe Huang is a Chinese American student in the US with a passion for STEM and its vital role in shaping the future of society. She believes that technological education should be accessible to everyone and that more resources should be available for those eager to learn. Chloe joined CTRL Code because of her strong connection to the organization's mission and her commitment to changing the status quo for underrepresented groups in STEM!
Claire Tang
Claire is currently a junior in High School. Her hobbies include drawing and dancing, and she also enjoys swimming in her free time. Claire has a strong passion for Computer Science, with a particular interest in Cybersecurity. She aims to help spread knowledge about CS to other students who share her interest.
Kunling Wu
Kunling Wu is a current student from Texas, United States. Her daily life consists of academics (STEM in particular), volleyball, and drawing. Coding became a true hobby of hers three years ago, and she believes in introducing every child she can to this wonderful skill to have.
Maryam Solaiman
Maryam Solaiman is a high school senior from California interested in computer science and engineering. She is passionate about spreading STEM and CS to underserved communities and making sure everyone has access to a tool that's increasingly prevalent in all fields. Previously, she has worked with Girls Who Code and Women in STEM to encourage girls to participate in computer science.
